Friday, February 16, 2024

7:45-8:45 am Brookwood Library

 

Voting Attendees: Corrie Barrett, Kathy Smith, Caroline Butters, Megan Olson, Kim Allen, Ann Odom, Mitch Evers, Kimball High, Derek Matsumori

Nonvoting Attendees: Ashley Moehle, Cathy Carr, Monica Rotermund, Abigail Wilcox, Kasandra Hokanson, Jennifer Reese

 

  • Welcome: Megan Olson
  • Motion to approve January minutes: Megan Olson
    • Kathy Smith seconded
    • All voting attendees in favor
  • Artapalooza Update- Megan Olson
    • $6000 in business donations
    • Not as many baskets from classrooms this year
    • Barbie (Wed 4-5) and Elsa (Thurs 4-5) attending
    • Donation box will be near street performing students- new this year
    • Garden room instead of glow room in the art room
  • Reviewed School Data: Corrie Barrett
    • School is on track to meet goals
    • Reviewed MOY Reading Data Analysis
      • Kim Allen talked about seeing a big difference in progress for her child moving from half to full day kindergarten
    • Reviewed MOY Math Data Analysis
      • On the Math Computation MOY growth chart it would be helpful to see the prior year’s growth as well
      • Teachers discussed that slowing the curriculum while staying in the district standards is improving outcomes by building a strong foundation for all students
    • Reviewed Proposed Reading Goals and Action Plan for 2024-2025 TSSP and Land Trust Plan.
      • Ashley Moehle suggested in weekly emails that teachers could remind parents to ask kids their lexile level and help them choose appropriate and interesting books at home
      • Lower grades- teachers could reach out and ask parents if they want to opt in to baggie books
    • Motion to approve 2024-2025 Proposed Reading Goals and Action Plan: Mitch Evers
      • Kim Allen seconded
