Parents: Megan Olson, Ann odom, Jessica Pohlman, Kim Allen, Jamie Dowdle, Kimball High, Mitch Evers, Hadley Waters

Faculty/Staff: Principal: Corrie Barrett, Kasandra Hokanson, Caroline Butters, Katherinf Chapman, Abigail Wilcox, Monica Rotermund, Cathy Carr, Heidi Vincent.

  1. Welcome: Megan Olson
  2. Approve September Minutes.

          a. Motion: Megan Olson, Second: Caroline Butters

     3. School Safety and Digital Citizenship Report: Corrie Barrett

          a. Parents can adjust restrictions on students chrombooks

          b. Thrive Time now includes digital citizenship lessons throughout the year.

          c. Ms. Rotermund reviewed the recent Digital Citzenship week.

              i. Kimball asked what can be done to prevent kids from accessing YouTube videos after they view one from a tescher.

                   1. Teachers will try embedding videos in google slides or canva.

          d. Does the SCC feel it has received enough information to determine if the filtering systems and supervision practices are appropriate? All were in favor

          e. Does the SCC feel it has received enough information about the school’s educational effort to instill a students desire to be a good digital citizen? All were in favor.

          f. Does the SCC believe the school has a whole viable plan to present internet citizenship and safety information to the parents in the community? All were in favor.

          g. It was suggested the principal make a parent square post about the technology portal.

    4. School Safety Report

          a. No new safety concerns to address

          b. Safe walking routes- no change

    5. School Goals:

          a. Reviewed last year’s goals

          b. Reviewed the buildings leadership team’s suggested goals and action plan

               i. PTA is planning a reading incentive program

          c. Reviewed school climate goals and action plan

          d. Reviewed attendance data and plan (available on Brookwood website)

               i. Jessica brought up the way checking out is counted may be affecting attendance statistics.

     6. SCC Financial Update

          a. TSSP: planning a journal entry move later in the year

          b. Fundraiser money

               i. Discussed some money from Math Olympiad could be reallocated for an art program
